A Dunnsville, Virginia, woman has won $150,000 after choosing the same five numbers on three separate plays, with all three matching the winning combination in the February 5 night drawing.
Sarah Sorrell purchased the three Pick 5 plays at the Fas Mart at 1998 Tappahannock Blvd. in Tappahannock. She selected 9-9-9-9-9 on each play, and those numbers turned out to be the winning combination.
When Sorrell realised she had won, she said she jumped and started clapping her hands.
“I was screaming and everything,” Sorrell told Virginia Lottery officials when she claimed her prize. “I scared my little dogs!”
Because Sorrell played the exact combination on three separate plays, she won the $50,000 top prize three times, bringing her total winnings to $150,000.
Sorrell already has a plan for the money. She intends to use her winnings to pay her mortgage.
