Fayetteville Woman Wins $325,758 Jackpot and Plans to Split It With Her Mom

Fayetteville, North Carolina, woman Troywanee Davis won a $325,758 Digital Instant jackpot and plans to split the winnings with her mother.

Troywanee Davis of Fayetteville, North Carolina, had only recently become familiar with the lottery when she won a $325,758 jackpot playing the Pantheon of Olympus: Tides Digital Instant game on Aug. 18.

Davis said her mother introduced her to the lottery at the beginning of August, showing her how to play and helping her become familiar with the games. When Davis played Pantheon of Olympus: Tides for the first time, she ended up winning its jackpot.

“I’m thrilled,” Davis said.

The win came from a $30 play, with odds of 1 in 2.1 million.

“I was at a loss for words,” Davis recalled. “We just got lucky I guess.”

Davis described the win as “unbelievable” and “surreal” before travelling to lottery headquarters on Monday to claim her prize. After state and federal tax withholdings, she received $234,587.

One of her first plans for the money is to share it with her mother as a thank you for introducing her to the lottery.

Davis said she plans to use her share to invest and put money towards a cosmetology business. Her mother, meanwhile, would likely use her portion for shopping and helping people around her.

For Davis, a recent introduction from her mother has now turned into a shared financial windfall between the two of them.
