Montérégie, Quebec woman Lise Bilodeau won $1 million and received her prize on her birthday. She plans to move and buy her dream car.
Lise Bilodeau of Montérégie, Quebec, Canada had an especially memorable birthday this year after discovering she had won $1 million and then receiving her prize on the day she had hoped for.
Bilodeau discovered her win while checking her ticket the morning after the April 14, 2026 Québec Max draw. She usually checks her lottery tickets while enjoying her morning coffee, but this time the result came as a major surprise.
At first, she thought she had won $1,000. Then she noticed there were too many zeros. After taking a closer look at the draw results, Bilodeau realised she had the winning numbers and had actually won $1 million.
She immediately called her spouse to share the news.
“It’s true, we won a million dollars!” she told him. Bilodeau later described the moment as “utter bliss.”
There was another reason the win became particularly memorable. Bilodeau had mentioned that receiving her prize on her birthday would be a wonderful gift, and the Loto-Québec team arranged for her to collect the prize on that day.
The celebration included an unexpected touch: balloons waiting for her when she arrived.
“I didn’t expect there to be party balloons!” Bilodeau said, visibly moved by the surprise.
With her $1 million windfall, Bilodeau plans to move and buy her dream car.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Couche-Tard convenience store at 7721 Boulevard Taschereau in Brossard, Quebec. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.
