North Vancouver, British Columbia, resident Odel P. discovered his ticket was worth $100,000 weeks after the draw and plans to invest some of the money for his future.
A routine check of his lottery tickets led to an unexpected $100,000 prize for North Vancouver, British Columbia, resident Odel P.
Odel regularly checks his tickets every few weeks. When he tried to scan one ticket from the July 3, 2026 Lotto Max draw, the result was not immediately clear, so he took it to a cashier and asked the retailer to scan it.
“I check my tickets after a couple of weeks and I tried to scan the ticket,” Odel recalled. “Then I took it to the cashier to have her scan, and she told me I won!”
The discovery came with another memorable moment when Odel shared the news with his wife.
“At first she didn’t believe me!” he said.
The winning ticket was purchased from a lotto kiosk at Park Royal in West Vancouver. Odel said he is still processing what happened.
“It still feels like I am in shock,” he said.
Rather than immediately spending the money, Odel plans to put some of his $100,000 prize aside to invest for his future.
